Barack Obama, The most radical pro-abortion candidate in history...
Whether Pro-Life or Pro-Choice, Obama's position on live birth abortions must bother you. Barack Obama would make for the most radical pro-abortion presidential candidate in history. Not only does Barack Obama oppose protecting infants who survive a failed or botched abortion, he has pledged to sign the Freedom of Choice Act as his first item of business if elected president of the United State. Obama opposes the ban on partial-birth abortion and during the Saddleback forum debate had said the issue of when life begins was too difficult for him to answer – “above my pay grade.”**
Abortion-survivor Gianna Jessen in this Citizenlink video appeals to presidential hopeful Barack Obama to support protection for babies who are born in the course of an abortion. If you would like to support this effort, please donate here.
**During the "Saddleback Debate Forum" on August. 16, Senators. Barack Obama and John McCain fielded questions from the Saddleback Church pastor and leader Rick Warren. Senator John McCain gave very solid, precise, and encouraging answers to questions about the sanctity of life and the institution of marriage, whereas Senator Barack Obama came down at the other end of the argument.
You will recall the following interchange during the forum:
Pastor Rick Warren: "At what point does a baby get human rights, in your view?"
Senator Obama: "... Answering that question with specificity, you know, is, uh, is, above my pay grade."*
With all due respect, Senator Obama, if this question is above your pay grade, then so is the job attached to it.

I'm Cassie and I work for The Lane Real Estate Team (my Mom and Dad) as their virtual assistant. A rather nice arrangement, I might add. I work for them, and they pay my college tuition! Not bad! If you need a great real estate team, or property manager, consider Team Lane for all Southeast Washington real estate needs. :)

Obama voted 4 times to let babies die, what a sorry excuse for a human he is.
Cassie:
Obama is not just for abortion. Obama is pro infanticide.
Cassie:
Thanks for getting this info out. We'll get you featured on Silent Majority.
Maybe you should call the procedure what it really is, "late term" abortion. I love the way McShame used the "air quotes" when he referred to the "health of the mother" in the last debate. Like the health of the mother was inconsequential. NOBODY likes abortion, bottomline is EVERY woman should have the RIGHT to choose. If we don't like abortion, then men should practice birth control instead of spending millions on government funded erectile disfunction medications.
Cassie, great job on this post. And kudo's to your folks for raising a fine young lady and paying your college tuition to boot!
Cassie:
Congrats on your featured post!
Congratulations this post is now featured in Silent Majority Of Active Rain.
His believes are not really known and evades the issues. I think he associates with people who are below anyones pay grade and it will show.
Richard
Terry- you are right everyone has the right to choose. But, abortion is the WRONG choice. PERIOD.
Cassie, In the ad, Jessen says that "if Senator Obama had his way, I wouldn't be here." She's wrong. Anyone born in Illinois under the same circumstances as Jessen (who was actually born in California) would have been protected under the state's law as it stood, with or without the legislation that Obama opposed.
Jessen's mother had an abortion in her third trimester, at 29-and-a-half weeks according to Jessen's biographer. This means she had an excellent chance of surviving outside the womb. And Illonois Law has long stated that if an abortion is performed when the fetus is deemed to be viable, the doctor must: Have in attendance a second doctor who can immediately take over care of the child if it's born alive.
Senator Obama Voted against the NEWLegislation because it added NOTHING NEW to the Law that was ALREADY in Place in the state of Illonois.
This Ad and Jensen's Story has been debunked BORN ALIVE BALONEY.
You know. These things just break my heart. I don't understand how someone can watch these videos and here's another....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZVf_o1C2nI&eurl=http://www.bornalivetruth.org/
and say with a straight face that we should let this murder continue. Even if you allow Roe Vs. Wade to continue and allow abortions, how can you support not helping these babies that don't die?
How can you say that is humane but support PETA and SNAP and the SPCA which is for the ethical treatment of animals? Aren't babies at least equal in their rights to ethical treatment?
I agree with you 100%.
Terry- Right back at you, maybe women should practice birth control. Today it is still a womans right to kill her baby, not a mans.
There are so many aspects of this issue that should be addressed. Children & mothers should be helped, not destroyed. Life is precious, it was NEVER meant to be destroyed and treated with such disregard.
I've taught childbirth to unwed mothers, assisted them while they gave birth and helped them with their needs for them & their babies. I believe that with a heart of compassion and hands that reach out to those in need abortion can be overcome. Legislation will not prevail in ridding the world of this atrocity.
Gianna, If you ever read this, Thank you for your testimony, I'm glad you're here!
Linda - You are wrong. I am sure you have heard from the nurse who held the baby for 45 minutes until it died. This happened at one of the top hospitals in Illinois. Not only that, but I worked at that hospital for 3 years in my prior life. The law did not protect those babies. Here is how they circumvent the law; as long as the babies head has not been delivered out of the vagina and exposed to our atmosphere the bay is not technically born. This is called partial birth abortion, the baby is turned before it is delivered so that it is breech, the baby is delivered up to the neck with the head still in the woman, then the baby is killed. This procedure is not included in the law. Thus the baby does not have to be cared for. In Illinois you can only perform an abortion to preserve the health or life of the mother. "Health" of the mother is ambiguous. It can include mental health and many other conditions. So babies born alive are left to die because keeping the baby could be detrimental to the mental health of the mother, Mental health is the default reason to leave the baby to die.
Guys, let's stick to real estate and put these blogs on appropriate sites. This is not going to help me sell a home today......
Unfortunately most people do not agree with you and blindly agree with him......
Tim Moncrief:
This is a political blog and is posted on political sites on Activerain. Activerain promotes many special interest sites that have absolutely nothing to do with real estate.
You really failed to make an argument for non-political posts because you couldn't help yourself. Your last sentence in your comment was very political. I suppose you want your cake and eat it too?
Update:
If there is question on Obama's voting record as it relates to abortion, I've updated the original blog with that record. See, "Obama's voting record as relating to abortion:"
I saw Gianna on H&C and just watched it again(thanks Cheri) This testimony brings tears to my eyes each time. Praise God.
Linda Mae, I don't care how many times you go to fact check, they have about as much credibility as Acorn when it comes to Obama. Fighting for choice is sinful enough but your contant lying and making up facts in order to support your true Messiah (Obama) is starting to get old. How anyone could vote not to give medical aid to babies actually born alive is beyong me. It is a level of evil on par with Hitler. You are constantly bashing us for strong opinions but has this world not learned it's lesson about people turning a blind eye. The holocaust was with out a doudt one of our worlds worst moments of history and I hope we are never allowed to forget, but the genocide of the unborn has now passed 50 millionand no amount of rationalization can justify that.ABORTION IS MURDER plain and simple and I am sick and tired of whiny secularists trying to call it something else.If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck it is probably a duck. Anyone who can watch this womens story and still vote for Obama, well I hope you can live with yourself and I hope you are ready to drop to your knees and ask the Lords forgiveness.
Cassie I appologize for hijacking you blog but if I hear one more person tell me they are a christian and pro choice i think I am going to implode.
Forgive them Lord for they know not what they do, and Heavenly father I beg your forgiveness for the feelings running through me at this very moment, but by the blood of Your Son Jesus at calvary i promise i will not be shut up as long as abortion is still an option in this greatcountry.
You realize that the vote in question that folks like to point to as proof that Senator Obama would deny care to babies who survive abortion was redundant right? There were already laws on the books which ensured that care. There is also the hippocratic oath which demands that medical professionals care for these babies. Obama's vote (or lack thereof) had everything to do with the additional clauses inserted into a bill which was redundant. Man, people are gullible. It reminds me of the similar cry on the campaign trail of how Obama voted to cut off funding to the troops. Wrong. He supported one of two competing bills. He voted "no" on one to vote "yes" on the other. Funny thing? McCain did the very same thing. Everyone jumps to conclusions by looking at some of these votes without really taking the time to dig past the hyperbole and party line of attack for the actual rationale. He is simply a "baby killer" or "doesn't support the troops." Politics at its worst. Though I am a supporter of Obama, I don't claim purity on his side of the aisle. There have been many distortions of his opponent's voting record as well. That is to be expected to some degree. It just never ceases to amaze me how blindly members of each camp will so easily jump to the wanted conclusion.
Paul - Read my comment to Linda above. I came from health Care. The hypocratic oath does not say anything about physicians caring for babies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippocratic_Oath you will find that it states physicians will not perform abortions, yet they do.
I'm not sure is what the lady says is true even if she had been born in Illinois. BUT, there is no doubt that Obama is pro-choice and so that should be the only issue of concern if pro-life versus pro-choice is the issue you are most concerned with. If that is the case then clearly you cannot vote for Obama. If the issue doesn't upset you much the it will have no bearing on your decision on Tuesday.

Congratulations this post is now featured in the Real Estate Professionals for John McCain Group of Active Rain.
Many make excuses for Obama's positions. "He voted that way because...[fill in the blank]."
The truth about Obama is given the chance and opportunity, he'll vote extreme left. See how far left his score is here. Of 100 Senators, he has THE MOST liberal voting record in the senate. Biden is two spots behind him. To have the most left voting record, one must out vote Democrats like Hilary, Boxer, etc.
@Paul Slaybauch, and others who cite the "redundancy justifications" for Obama's voting pattern. If his vote didn't count, or matter in the outcome, why didn't he put a "I'm for the baby's life" stamp on the issue? He could have easily voted against these types of abortions, but he didn't.
Because he didn't like the accompanying legislation tacked into the bill, Cassie. When there is a perfectly good law in place which spells out that care be provided for a baby that survives an abortion, why do you think new legislation is introduced? It is drafted with additional provisions tacked in. Those are the provisions that they are really trying to pass. Politicians on both sides of the aisle will cloak their true agendas in otherwise innocuous pieces of legislation that is designed to force a "yes" vote. Drafted in such a way that folks like you will in turn villanize the person who votes "no" or abstains. I make excuses for no one's voting record. I only suggest that people try to understand all of the moving parts. I ask again, why introduce a bill to enact legislation that already exists? Part of the game.
Don't hate the player, hate the game ;)
Bravo, Cassie
I appreciate the information.
It is amazing to me that Candidate Obama was never held accountable for his "above my paygrade" response at the Saddleback event. That one question and answer told me all I needed to know about this candidate.
Really, he didn't like the accompanying legislation attached to the bill. Well, Barbara Boxer from California from all places voted for this bill, and she is one of the most liberal in the senate. Your comments don't hold water, even as all the excuses the messiah has with his associations with all these known terrorists and terrorist sympathizers. Barak Obama's radical left wing stances would make any hard core communist blush with envy.
I read a very interesting story yesterday about how persons cannot claim they are religious yet vote for someone that is so pro murder of the unborn. A person cannot be both - there is no comprimsing faith. He is more than pro-abortion he is an advocate of partial birth abortion where a child could live outside the womb! I guess his pastor never told him this!
Ok, Paul, We'll play your game.....
"I ask again, why introduce a bill to enact legislation that already exists?"
Why indeed Paul. Why are "we" trying right this very minute to pass laws in states, CAlifornia specifically, where legislation already exists in regards to homosexuals for instance?
They don't have equal rights they argue.
Their partners can't even visit them in the hospital if they are sick.
Um, BULL. If you give POA (power of attorney) to your PARTNER and/or create a Living Will designating said partner then they WOULD be allowed to visit you in the hospital. POAs have been recognized as legal and binding my whole life. POA's must be very specific in their terms. They would cover this issue, especially if backed by a living will.
Their partners don't get insurance. Then change jobs because many corps now do give that benefit but there are many hetero couples who have no insurance either. Work on that legislation. Get insurance laws changed/created.
It's somehow "different" or worse if a homosexual is killed or assaulted so we created a special hate crimes law just for them making it worse if you harm one of them. Why did we do that when there was already laws on the books that covered assault and murder?
Are you telling me that what is good for the goose isn't good for the gander?
Cause see, in my book, those who harm children are the worst of our species. Even inmates kill those who harm children.
The truth of the matter is that we, the Silent Majority in this world were irresponsible and asleep. We let the left take over this country and they have now got everything going their way to the point that over 3000 babies a day are killed and few blink an eye.
Roe Vs. Wade was not created so that abortion could become a form of birth control. It has gotten way out of hand. It's time it was reined back in.
Just as the homosexuals fought to alter and enact laws that further protected them, "we" want to alter and enact laws that will protect the future children of this country.
We've joined the game and we will win it or die trying.
PRO CHOICE = PRO MURDER
Let's call it what it is. It took a Madison Ave advertising agency to come up with the "pro choice" label. The killing of innocent babies for any reason is murder. Abortion has become an act of convenience because it isn't convenient to have a baby. "This baby will interupt my life style." With the thousands of abortions being executed every day, the number of abortions being done due to the life of the mother being in jeopardy during birth are a very small number.
I hear a lot of people saying it is their right to choice but what about the rights of the baby?
Holy zealotry. I'm out. No reasonable discussion to be had here.
Paul:
I'm sure you are thankful that you weren't aborted and have lived to voice your opinion.
LOL! Party of fanaticism, your table is ready!
When I hold my new grandson and watch him smile and giggle it is like looking into the face of the lord. I cannot fathom this world being without him. Obama is the worst enemy of the unborn.
The post title is a terrible exaggeration. NO ONE who has kids of their own can truly be "pro-abortion" as in "everyone should have an abortion, abortions are great, I'm promoting them". Obama is pro-CHOICE. Meaning that he thinks it is a woman's choice, if she gets pregnant, whether or not to have the child, not the government's choice. Personally I think the "pro-choice" group protects too many rights, I would like to see some reasonable restrictions placed on what a pregnant woman can and can't do. The partial birth abortion ban is the ONLY thing I think Bush got right. But I DO agree that it should be the woman's decision, not the government's. I agree with Obama when he says that he doesn't believe women make these decisions lightly.
The vote by Obama which is so widely quoted dealt with a bill in Illinois which would have granted full rights to any child who was alive, even if the doctor did not think it had any chance of surviving on its own. There was already a law in effect in Illinois which required doctors to treat an infant which DID have a chance of life on its own.
I find it interesting that a lot of the votes you list in your post as BAD (evidently) deal with sex education and/or contraception. I HAVE NEVER understood why people who are pro-life are so often also anti-birth control. SURELY the best way to stop abortion is for people who are not ready to have a child to just NOT START the child in the first place.
Leslie:
Obama is not only pro-abortion he is pro-infanticide and his voting record and actions in the Illinois Senate prove it. I hope you don't actually believe the spin you are spewing.
"Obama is the worst enemy of the unborn." TREY
WOW what a STRONG STATEMENT
Gee so glad to hear you have forgave the Supreme Court Justices who ruled in favor of Roe-v-Wade, the founders of abortion Clinics, the doctors who perform abortions, the mothers who have had abortions
and EVERYONE involved in abortions BUT Senator Obama.
You guys don't even KNOW how STUPID it is when you make comments like Obama is the worst enemy of the unborn.
ANYTHING FOR A VOTE !!!!!!
Hey, Paul I'm with you
"LOL! Party of fanaticism, your table is ready!"
The irony, Linda, is that there are many like me who are resolute in the knowledge that they could never be party to an abortion, but simply have a difficult time forcing our personal morality and religious ideals upon others. The entire conservative label is misleading nowadays. Barry Goldwater himself was one of the biggest defender's of a woman's right to privacy and choice. Modern day "conservatives" decry government intervention in all matters financial, but are all for federal intervention in medical issues, lifestyles, etc. It is not "social conservatism" if you are utilizing the government to enforce morality. Regardless of where you come down on this very sensitive topic, it does absolutely no good to demonize the people on the other side of the debate. There are good people who believe that life begins at conception and should be protected at all costs, and there are good people who believe that certain milestones must be met before a grouping of cells with potential for life actually becomes life. Those folks tend to think that the health and privacy of the mother are paraamount. I only wish we as Americans would try to reach common ground and see things through the eyes of another before lobbing around labels such as "muderer" and "socialist" for people whose prism is simply a bit variegated in color and form.
It really does not matter what Barry Goldwater favored... a nation that cannot protect its weakest does not deserve to stand. Even ancient Rome was anti abortion! Let's not be afraid of mincing words - people that condone this are just as guilty as the ones that perform the procedure. Evil occurs when good people stand by and say and do nothing. Also, a socialist is not a conservative. They may be liberals but they are at the extremists. So do we develop a new label? Or let's just call them on what they really are! Pro abortion and socialist. A partial birth abortion is a full term baby capable of surviving outside the mothers womb!
The far right are the ones who are continually "spinning". Obama's vote has been explained many times. Live infants in Illinois were already protected.
Paul, Thanks for saying it so well.
I wonder what these same people who DEMAND the federal government be involved with this privacy issue of CHOICE for a woman would do if that same government made laws regarding their right to worship freely?
Once we allow the government into our wombs and our bedrooms what is going to stop them from coming in to our churches?
Imagine a nation where Abortion, Gay's and Religion are practiced ONLY in dark alleys.
What exactly is more socialistic about Obama's tax policy than McCain's, Jim? Taxes are all socialistic by definition. With the ridiculousness of the current tax code, the supremely wealthy have all of the loopholes and shelters to effectively pay less taxes than many of the workers who make them rich. I can certainly understand the argument to levy heftier taxes up top to account for the gap between tax rate and actual collection, especially if it gives a break to the middle class that carries so much of the burden as it stands. I would love to see a flat tax, but alas, never expect it. So we are left with the choice between trickle down economics are trickle up economics. We know that tax cuts for the guys up top will supposedly allow for job creation, higher wages, etc. Sounds great in theory. The competing theory is simply to lower taxes for the middle class and poor to improve buying power, thus giving the folks up top more customers, more need for job growth, more personal wealth, etc. Neither is any more socialistic than the other. One has proven more effective, however. Remember the Clinton years? Good times.
Once again, hyperbole and labels get you nowhere. Pro abortion and socialist. Jiminy Christmas.
"A partial birth abortion is a full term baby capable of surviving outside the mothers womb!"
Jim, You really should get your facts straight before you make such a SOLID proclamation.
If you read the entire court transcripts from the case you will find:
Quote from Jill Stanek the Nurse:
The babies are between 16 and 22 weeks old. With undeveloped lungs, Downs Syndrome and Spina Bifida, they will last from a few minutes to 6 or 7 hours. The baby Jill held "spent his 45 minutes just ... gasping."
When the nurse was asked before congress if she felt life saving measures would have saved the child's life, she answered "probably not..... no."
To date on record the longest a partial birth born alive baby has survives BY ARTIFICIAL MEANS when the mother makes the decision to save the baby is 22 DAYS and those parents have now said if they had it to do over they would have let their daughter go to heaven immediately instead of selfishly making her suffer for 22 days.
It is sad that some of you tell lies to Promote your agenda to end ALL abortions. My Bible tells me that LIARS have their place in the Lake of Fire.
Linda:
My Bible tells me Murderers will split Hell wide open. If you are promoting abortion and infanticide what separates you from a murderer?
Linda Mae, Our purpose on earth is to SERVE GOD. and it is His bible not your bible although from the things that come out of you it can not possibly be the same one. ABORTION IS MURDERthe choice is weather or not to be a part of a muder.
I just updated the original blog entry with some relevant pro-family resources. My personal favorite is this video. ;)
Cassie Excellent video addition
Linda Mae:
You stated that I said the following."Obama is the worst enemy of the unborn."
What are you doing attributing a quote to me that I didn't say? How dare you. What a liberal spin-master you are. Anything to make your point. It is obvious, the truth doesn't matter to you.
."Obama is the worst enemy of the unborn."
This statement was made by Trey. it was attributed to you and it certainly was an accident. I will go back over my statement and correct it being said about you.
"How dare you. What a liberal spin-master you are. Anything to make your point. It is obvious, the truth doesn't matter to you".
WOW, Take a chill pill. It was an Innocent mistake of trasposing Trey and Titanium.
You know like McCain saying " My fellow prisoners"
TREY DID SAY "Obama is the worst enemy of the unborn."
SO WHAT TRUTH AM I SPINNING??????????????
And by the way PLEASE PLEASE print MY LIES! PLEASE get together with your Best Bud and make a Post of my LIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Linda Mae:
Thank you for your retraction and I accept your apology for your error.
Titanium,
Thank you and you are welcome
Thank you guys! I love the discourse, but hate when the thread turns personal and vicious. ;)
And this has to do with real estate how?
Judy:
First of all, Activerain embraces different special interests political groups, sporting groups and others. If you don't want to read this post click a different one. I think by the post's title a reader could quickly sermise that this post was not about real estate. If you want to read about real estate there are many articles on Activerain and many groups on Activerain to fulfill your need for real estate information. Please, don't go away mad.
Ypu mean this was not a post about short sales
@Hugh,
lol Best response I've seen in a while Hugh! Perhaps this blog is about short sales, as when Obama wins tomorrow (yup, my bet is he wins by a landslide) his polices will result is a ton of short sales (and, aborted little babies).
Leslie, you stated that "women do not make these decisions lightly". What about the young girls who do it without their parent's input? They are not mature enough to make that decision yet they are allowed to and their parents never know about it. At the very least can't you see that it is wrong to allow little girls under the age of 18 to have abortions without any input or advice from their parents? The school won't even give my kid Tylenol without my signature but will show them how and where to get an abortion?!?!
I am all for birth control. It's a much better alternative to murder.
Paul, why stop at babies? If I don't like my husband can I abort him? Suck out his brain? What if my son gets in a wreck and his life will be "meaningless" from here on out due to brain damage can I have him aborted? HAve his life snuffed out. I mean come on, a life is a life! It's not right to murder. Period. You can't mistreat dogs in this country but babies are fair play? No. The govmt is the one who enacts laws regarding murder. This is NOT a religious issue but a right to life issue. Many non-religous people are pro-life as well. Stop making this a religious issue only.
As for taxes Paul, two weeks ago Obama said he wouldn't raise taxes on anyone but those making over $250,000 then on the commercial I JUST heard in the living room he said $200,000. How much lower will his next commercial be? I guess $150,000 and so on as they begin to see the reality.
Cheri:
McCain opposes transporting minor girls across state lines for a secret abortion without parental knowledge.
Which is one reason among many that McCain has my vote.
Noone seems to understand that when we systematically devalue life it just may be their own life being devalued someday.
Hugh:
Good thought Hugh.
